Advertising failed again
I live in Moscow suburb, in a
single-storey house. This year we were seized by rats. Previously I
used "Efa" poison. One could buy packets with granules on the sheets
and household shops. It was obtainable even in the trains. But now for
some reason it is not available any more. Meanwhile, rats propagate
with enormous speed. No save from them. They damage potatoes, drop the
lids of the stew pan. You can not sleep, because they rustle, stir
under wardrobes, chairs, sofas.
And there was an add on TV which said that the ultrasonic apparatus "Spektr" helps to drive away rats and
mice.
I called and ordered the apparatus. The
first shock was when I saw the price- 2,900 rubles. For a single piece.
And after the consultation, it turned out that 1 need at least two
apparatus. However, if you take two "Spektrs", you get a discount. I
paid 3250 rubles for two apparatus and delivery. The same day they
delivered the "Spectr", explained how to use it, gave a guarantee,
certificate, passport. All as it should be. "Will the rats leave right
tomorrow?-I asked the seller, who delivered the apparatus "No —
he said- not once, you'll need some time". And I hoped that for such an
amount of money I will finally have peace.
One week passed, then another. The "Spectr" is buzzing, consuming
the electricity. I do not know what the rats were feeling, but we were
fed up with the constant buzzing which sounded more like the chirr of
cicadas in the hot day. We wanted to leave the house ourselves, but the
rats were alive and kicking. I reread the instruction once again and
realized that the apparatus was very fastidious. One need to hang it so
that there is no handicaps for radiation. Handicaps create shadow
areas. Otherwise, the "Spectr" does not affect the rats. You can't put
it on the table and on the fridge. But where? I hang it on the comer.
The apparatus went on buzzing and did not bother the rats again. They
quiet down only during the first two nights and then romped, not paying
any attention to the "Spektr". I called the consultant again. In
complicated cases, for the complete withdrawal of rats you need two
months, he said. But it was not mentioned in the advertising. And
during two months I am going to die myself earlier than rats, because
of the hassle and sleepless nights!
Maybe this unit is elective, but perhaps only in cases when all
furniture is removed from the room. And still you have to catch the rat
and push this "Spektr" against its nose. Maybe then it will leave.
