Mousetraps and rat-traps

How to catch a mouse? How to catch a rat?

Conventional methods of pest control (poisonous baits, ultrasound, physical facilities of repellent) are not always effective. In addition to that, the synthetic poison is only notorious «chemistry», which causes harm to the environment. In struggle against rodents one can use non-chemical means, given by the nature.
Autumn crocus

Blossoms in August and September. All parts of the plant are very poisonous. To prepare the bait, mix thoroughly 1 kg of food which mice prefer (cereals, flour) with 20 grams of Autumn crocus' seeds. And spread it in the room where presence of mice was observed.
Crystal tea ledum

Its leaves contain many essential oils and have strong stupefying smell. Spread Crystal tea ledum's leaves near the entrances and stuck into the holes. If mice are inside the hole they leave it, if they are not, they will not return in the hole.
Tory weed

(Popular names - «dog tongue and cat's soap»). Mice can not bear the smell of Tory weed and when feel it, leave the room. Fresh or scalded plants should be spread in the holes. You can also hang them in a little distance from the floor. If you put Tory weed in the compost, heap of leaves or stack of swath, this will frighten voles and they will not nest in winter time. The seeds of Tory weed also may
be used as means of frightening. 1-2 seeds of Tory weed stick on the skin of mice or rat this will make them leave. For the cleanness of the skin for them is more important than the cellar full of vegetables. So
they leave in search for the other place, without the seeds of Tory weed.
Burdock

The seeds of the burdock are also helpful. One should put them into mice's hole.

European elder

Grows in Scandinavia, Western Europe, North America, and Asia Minor. Its leaves and barks have an odor unpleasant for people and absolutely unbearable for mice. To protect the fruit seedlings from rodents, their trunks should be tied with branches of the European elder. To protect perennial plant, particularly bulbar, one should put branches of the European elder under shelter material.
Fritillary

The bulbs of fritillary have sharp smell, unbearable for small rodents. Therefore, the mice bypass the plots planted with these plants.
Mint

Mice can not stand the smell of mint. That is why one should spread dried bunches of stalks of this plants in the locality.

Also in the place where mice appear one can spread stalks of hop, coriander, common wormwood, dried chamomile. The extract of common needles is also used.
Latin "Humulus" Latin "Artemisia absinthium" Mayweed Latin "Coriandrum sativum"

Untried methods

Some propose to rear "rat wolves." Several rats are caught with rat-traps and put into a deep metal can so that they can not get out. No food. Rats eat each other, and finally survive only one which learns how to kill the rats of the same species as it is. No food again. When the "rat wolf ' releases, it starts to kill congeners. But it's not for long. Rats quickly recognize the betrayer and eventually kill it while saving the clan of
death.

The literature describes the way that Zambian farmers use for more than one hundred years. Add beer in the bowl with milk and leave it in the room. In the morning all rats die.

If you set on fire a mouse's tail, mice will leave.
